We made our Christmas presents from the kids to Grandma and Grandpa today. We made fingerprint art and then glued a little calendar to each page. They turned out so cute. I think they'd be fun to look at all year.

bird costume
A got it in her head that she wanted to be a bird this year. I was so proud of her for wanting to be something other than a fairy or a princess, not that little fairy costumes aren't so cute but I've made my share of fairy costumes already. Anyways, I found this pattern from Martha Stewart for wings. It only took a few hours and you don't even have to sew anything, if you don't want to. I sewed lines on the wings instead of ironing them since I'd rather stick my finger in my eye than use an iron.

Valentine's garland
This morning Amelie was asking to do a project. I had just gotten an old dictionary and so we pulled this together. It is quite possibly the easiest project ever. But it was right on her level. Just cut out some hearts out of the pages for her and had her glue them to some string.

the finished project
A shot of the mobile up in Amelie's room for you. I think it adds a sense of whimsy to that corner of her room.
Looking at the picture I think I might hang it a little lower. Pictures are perfect for pointing out changes that could make a space better, don't you think?
