our bedroom

Our bedroom is finished. It is my favorite place in the house so far.  Before we painted it was sort of a funky periwinkle blue. It's amazing what a few cans of paint and curtains will fix.  It was tricky to photograph it with my 35 mm, it's definitely not a wide angle lens but it works.

This is my favorite little rocking chair. We got it off of Craigslist when we lived in California. When we bought it Brett teased me that it looked like something that he would have found in his Grandma's house but I love it and now he tells me he loves it too. It's so comfy and it fits me and a baby just right. It will probably go in Amelie's room once it's finished.  The painting is something I did awhile ago. I haven't found a space for it but it works great where it is now.

Our bed is from Down East Home. I wanted a whole bed, not just a headboard and it was the cheapest one I could find. It is really well made but I wasn't sure about beige but with the color on the wall I love it. The wall color Quiet Moments from Benjamin Moore but it's Regencies No VOC paint. It looks really blue in these pictures but it's more of a soft greenish blue color.

This is a closeup of the mirror. I wasn't sure what I was going to do over the bed and then I found this. I love it. It is capiz shell.  I found it at TJ Maxx.  As well as the duvet cover and coverlet at the end of the bed.

These nightstands are an IKEA hack.  They are the RAST dresser from IKEA refinished with some new knobs from Lee Valley. They are perfect for extra storage. I pretty much followed this tutorial exactly.

This is the  pretty tree that sits outside one of our windows. It just blossomed and it so cheery to look at in the morning. And that's it. More than you could ever know about my bedroom project.
