three month love

I love this new little lady in my life. She's been such a sweetheart. Just this week she has really come to life. She has been talking up a storm. Her voice is the sweetest sound. Hearing her coo  slows everything down for me. Her little talking moments calm me down and make me laugh at the same time. It's the perfect therapy for a mom of three. She's awake much more (which has been changing everything during the day)! But still she's happy and content.
My other babies had their share of tummy problems, because of their Celiac I'm sure. So now that I've figured that all out I'm not eating wheat and avoiding dairy for the most part since I'm nursing her and it's made a huge difference. She's not without her own belly problems but she's so much better. It's so nice to have a baby that is happy and calm and sleeps peacefully!

27 weeks pregnant

You know what's really embarrassing? Taking photos of yourself growing huge and then posting them for all your friends to see. Pretty silly and yet here I am. I'll be glad later, right? At least they'll be good for laughs.

I had a little scare of contractions last week. Two hours of contractions that were close together, super regular and super painful.  I couldn't talk or walk through them.  The nurse told me to come in as soon as I called and they stopped as soon as I got to labor and delivery. They did a fetal fibrosis test and said it was false labor. I haven't felt anything since so hopefully they weren't anything but a fluke. I don't want our little girl coming until she's good and ready.

No lie, in the past few weeks four people that I don't know have told me that I look good for being so far along. Then they ask how long I have to go and find out that I'm not really that far along. Thirteen weeks more weeks. I've been lucky though. This summer has been good to me. The weather has been mild, perfect for a summer pregnancy.

So one more week until I am officially in my last trimester. My laid back attitude I had a few weeks ago when I felt completely comfortable to wait out the summer for our dovie to come have disappeared and I'm getting impatient already. Funny how a pregnancy can  go so fast and yet it still feels like it's not fast enough.

20 weeks: halfway home

Yesterday we had our official ultrasound. It's my favorite day of being pregnant, the day of the ultrasound. Other than actually having the baby, of course. I love hearing those reassuring words from the ultrasound tech, you know, beautiful kidneys, heart, and brain, no spina-bifida and everything else that they can see. Hearing that everything checks out a-okay feels so good.  Our little dovie was so fun to watch too. She had her feet up by her face and was playing with them with her little hands.
We have a friend who is an ultrasound tech who let us come in when I was fourteen weeks to find out what we are having but it was pretty early to be sure. This one confirmed we were having a girl. And as a plus they moved my due date up ten days. Whoop-whoop. Which makes me twenty-two weeks pregnant. The big day is October 5th now.

I feel like my belly is so much bigger much sooner than before but that is to be expected with my third pregnancy. Already I feel like I am walking with that pregnancy waddle. This time I feel more patient about being pregnant. I don't feel that urgency for the wait to be over like I did with my first two. I'm just fine to have her all to myself for now and wait out the summer until she comes.

pretty things for her

Our little dovie inside of me has been on my mind more and more now that I am feeling her flutter around my belly. I love this time when I can feel my babies inside me and it's still just like a little butterfly flittering around. Nobodys getting kicked in the ribs yet.
The fun part of having our second girl is that I have everything I need for the most part, I can just find a few pretty things for fun. I know I'm short on dresses so that's first thing on the list.

a letter to #3

dear sweet baby #3,

you are going to have the best set up once you get here. you are going to have the best big sister. she thinks about you daily and talks about you constantly. she tells me still, "Mom, can you believe we are going to have a baby girl!"

on top of that you are going to have the best big brother. he might have a hard time sharing his mom with you at first but you are in luck my little lady, because he loves babies. loves them. i'm pretty sure that he is going to adore you. you know, after he gets over that urge to beat up on you. i'm sure he'll go through that stage, they all do, but i'll be sure to protect you. promise.

we are all excited about you. especially now that we know for sure that you are a girl. a girl! i still can't believe it. we all thought you would be (except dad, he never would say for sure what he guessed). we would have been so happy either way (except Amelie, she would have been crushed) also, i'm super grateful to you for not making me sick the whole 9 months. thanks for the break. you are already fantastic. i've been trying to eat lots of healthy food to make up for the last few months of sick food. we want you to come out nice and chubby you know. we like our babies chubby.

i love you so much already
love, mom
