oh, fall

These zannies, I love them so much. They have been waiting anxiously for our leaves to fall so they could rake them up. And the little angels even bagged them up for us after they got good use jumping in them for an afternoon. How about that first shot? I don't think I could love it more. It's so fun watching magoo get old enough to play with the kids. I'm already a bit depressed thinking that fall is already coming to an end. It just doesn't last long enough. 

the coolest

I've been taking some time to disconnect for awhile and do some reconnecting with myself, per say. It's been nice, to say the least. There is something to be said about having less distractions and more time to focus on whats important. But I do love having our little family blog to have the kids look back on. I haven't taken pictures of my littles in forever. Really it's just been a few weeks but it feels like so long. I was printing the lasts months pictures and came across these two. This kid is such a stud. Sometimes it feels like he runs my life, which is okay too, but I sure love having him around. Taking care of him has taught me so much, has stretched me and I think I love him all the more because of it. He is conveniently such a neat kid which makes being his momma so fun. If only I could stop him from growing up so fast!

organizing kid's artwork

I was just putting all of Miss Magoo's things in her folder and I thought I'd share how I store their artwork. All of the artwork and little notes and cards from Grandma go in these folders. This way I don't have to hurt anyone's feelings by throwing them all away. So every once in awhile I clear the fridge of all the artwork. I don't save everything but the things I do save I date and put their age on it and store it in sleeves. We go through it together so that they learn that some things we hold on to and some we let go of. This way we can still page through them every once in awhile without going through a box of papers. I'm sure we will collect more folders as we go along but they work really well.

This bulletin board holds some of the drawings.  It's in the toy room which I like because I feel like it shows them that it's their space. And of course there are drawings on the fridge too!

sister love

I am hoping that all of my kids will be good friends when they are older. Especially the girls. I have two sisters and I love being with them. I don't know if that will happen for my girls or not of course but right now they are really fun to watch together. 

book mobiles

I made these book mobiles for our play room. They were really simple. I just tore out the pages from some old books I thrifted. Then I took a paint stick and glued that to the book binding to give something for a screw to hold onto. Folded the pages and glued those together with Fabri-tac and then glued those to the paint stick. Screw a hook screw into the binding of the book and done!

They're a lot lighter than they look so they end up being really secure once I hung them.

 It was a pretty easy and inexpensive little project. They're perfect for our little reading corner.

play room

Our weekend couldn't have been better. We relaxed and did as little as possible. We did replace the carpet in the two rooms that had carpet on our mainfloor. So that starts the beginning of a new project. The playroom. I've been so very excited for this room. I especially wanted it taken care of before the baby comes. It's right off my kitchen so it's the perfect spot for them to play. This little corner is as far as I've gotten but already my two kiddos have been playing non-stop in here.
